Dan contacted me weeks in advance looking for an Ocean Reef Club proposal photographer to capture this very special moment! He let me know he was planning to propose to his girlfriend, Alex, during a trip to Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo and asked if I could be there to capture the moment. He also let me know he was considering popping the question at The Point – an iconic spot with sweeping ocean views and the perfect backdrop for such a special occasion.
We came up with a plan that would keep everything a surprise. Dan and Alex would be sitting by the pool while I snuck past to go out to the point and get in position. I then hid and waited for them to walk by after Dan casually suggested they go out and take in the view. The moment was perfect, he asked the question right at the end of the point with a gorgeous water view behind, and she said yes!
The two then celebrated with champagne from a custom hand-painted bottle that Dan had commissioned for the occasion. We took more Ocean Reef Club engagement photos on the point, taking advantage of the beautiful tropical setting. Some of their family and friends then joined to congratulate them and celebrate with a drink at the beach bar while taking some group photos. The whole evening had such a joyful, celebratory energy, and I’m so honored I got to be a part of it!
