Brittany and James’ wedding day was a perfect blend of timeless elegance and modern charm, set against the stunning backdrop of downtown Baltimore. From a heartfelt ceremony at the Immaculate Conception Church in Towson to a chic reception at the Canopy by Hilton Baltimore Harbor Point, their celebration was the epitome of a sophisticated downtown Baltimore wedding.

Getting Ready with a View of the Inner Harbor

The day began with Brittany getting ready in one of the luxurious suites at the Canopy by Hilton Baltimore Harbor Point. With sweeping views of the harbor and the iconic Baltimore skyline, the suite was the perfect setting for the bride and her bridesmaids. The day started off with clouds and rain, which was no problem because it provided a beautiful diffused light for getting ready photos in the room. The weather started to clear up as we were heading out for the ceremony.

A Traditional Ceremony at Immaculate Conception Church

Brittany and James exchanged their vows at the Immaculate Conception Church in Towson, a beautiful church with breathtaking architecture. The couple’s ceremony was intimate and filled with emotion. With two photographers for this day, we were able to capture a shot I love of Brittany walking down the aisle from the balcony. After the ceremony, we headed back to the Canopy to celebrate!

Downtown Baltimore Wedding Portraits

Following the ceremony, we returned to the Canopy Hotel for portraits. The venue’s prime location offers unbeatable views of the Baltimore Inner Harbor, so we had to go outside for some waterfront photos. This location was so perfect we even went back outside later on to take some sunset photos, as golden hour continued to change the view. The couple told me ahead of time the view of the skyline was a big reason they chose this venue, so I had to capture it in their portraits.

Cocktail Hour and Reception at Canopy by Hilton

The evening continued with a cocktail hour, where guests mingled and enjoyed drinks while taking in the panoramic views of downtown Baltimore. The reception that followed in the hotel’s event space was filled with love, laughter, and stunning décor. The color pallette of shades of blue and white perfectly complimented the venue’s sweeping waterfront views. From their heartfelt first dance to the joyful toasts from family and friends, every moment of the reception was perfect.

Evening Wedding Portraits in Downtown Baltimore

As the night drew to a close, we went back outside for one more evening photo session on the harbor, capturing the city lights in the dark. These photos were the perfect way to capture the beauty of a downtown Baltimore wedding.

I am so grateful to have been a part of such a special celebration! If you’re dreaming of a downtown Baltimore wedding, the Canopy by Hilton Baltimore Harbor Point is a great option for an unforgettable wedding.

ABOUT morgan

I work with couples who are laid-back like me, and whose idea of a perfect wedding day is enjoying themselves, not posing for an elaborate photoshoot.

I'm originally from Duxbury, Massachusetts, a quiet coastal town south of Boston. For 9 years I photographed weddings in between Boston and South Florida, before moving to Baltimore where I now reside with my fiancé, Scott. I now primarily photograph weddings in Maryland, including Annapolis and the Eastern Shore. I also still take a select number of weddings each year in Massachusetts with no travel fee, so please reach out if you are getting married in either area!
