Cassie and Joe’s Independence Harbor wedding in Assonet MA was a joy filled day with family and friends and one that I will not soon forget. The day started with Cassie getting ready with her mom and girlfriends. They were ahead of schedule when I arrived, and everyone was relaxing which was really nice. Cassie gave all of her bridesmaids a gift which was a really sweet touch. She went and got dressed and then came down and had a really sweet first look with her dad. The father daughter first look is always so special. Then we had some time to do individual portraits with each member of the bridal party out on the back porch. Then we got ready to leave for the church.
Meanwhile my second photographer, Halie, who was helping me out that day was photographing Joe and his groomsmen getting ready. Joe read a sweet letter from Cassie. We all met up for the ceremony at St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. It was the couple’s church that they had been going to for a long time and was obviously a very special place for them. Throughout the entire day both Joe and Cassie had this look of sheer joy on their faces and especially throughout the mass, they were clearly just living in the moment and really enjoying it. After the ceremony and recieving line we did some family portraits at the church as well as some bride and groom portraits. Cassie and Joe were so joyful and in love that they were extremely easy to photograph and completely natural in front of the camera.
From the church we went on to the reception at Independence Harbor in Assonet. We did some additional photos during cocktail hour out on the gorgeous lawn. There were flowers in bloom everywhere, the sun was setting, it was just an incredibly beautiful scene. We did some portraits on the walkway leading into the venue which was lined with flowers, and those definitely ended up being some of my favorites from the day. Then it was time for the reception which was theatre themed! The tables were named after different musicals, and all of the special dances were choreographed and FABULOUS. Hands down some of the best wedding dances I’ve ever seen, and a truly a treat to photograph. Then we had some very special toasts, dinner, cake cutting, and then the dance floor was packed for the rest of the night! Everyone clearly had an amazing time. Enjoy these photos from the day!
Cassie and Joe- thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your wedding. I had an absolute blast. You two are such special people and it was so great to meet you!
I have to add that Joe is a wedding videographer himself, and he made sure that all of the vendors were fed immediately after the bride and groom so that we would have time to eat! I SO appreciated that and it’s a gesture that I won’t forget. Often times we don’t get fed until the very end, and then we don’t have time to eat before the cake cutting and other activities are about to begin.
Special thanks to my second photographer, Halie Olszowy, who took some of the photos below.
